Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-27

This page explains how Online Wedding Planner uses cookies and similar storage technologies (such as your browser's local storage). It is intended to satisfy disclosure requirements under the GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, CCPA, and Google AdSense Program Policies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They are used to remember preferences, track sessions, deliver advertising, and analyse traffic. "Local storage" is a similar but more capacious mechanism that lets a site save data on your device persistently across visits.

How we use them

Online Wedding Planner uses three categories of cookies and local storage, distinguished by purpose:

1. Essential (always active)

These are required for the Site to function. You cannot disable them without breaking the tools.

KeyTypePurposeLifetime
vowkit_state_v1Local storageStores your tool inputs (budget, guest list, seating chart, timelines, etc.) so they survive a page reload.Until cleared by you
vowkit_consent_v2Local storageRemembers your cookie preferences so we don't ask again on every page.Until cleared by you

2. Analytics (opt-in)

If you enable analytics cookies, we may use a privacy-respecting analytics service to understand which tools are used most and where users get stuck. Data is aggregated and anonymised — we cannot identify individual users.

CookieSet byPurposeLifetime
_gaGoogle AnalyticsDistinguishes unique users2 years
_ga_*Google AnalyticsPersists session state2 years

Note: analytics cookies are not currently in active use on the Site, but we reserve the right to enable a privacy-respecting analytics service in the future, contingent on your consent.

3. Advertising (opt-in)

If you enable advertising cookies, Google AdSense may set cookies on your browser to serve ads relevant to your interests. Google AdSense is enabled after our site has been approved by Google's review team.

For full details on Google's use of cookies, see Google's cookie policy.

How to manage cookies

You have several ways to control cookies:

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no universal standard for how to respond to DNT, the Site does not currently change its behaviour based on the DNT signal. Our cookie preference manager is the authoritative way to control cookies on this Site.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for instance when we add a new third-party service or change how cookies are used. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
