This privacy policy describes how Online Wedding Planner ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our free wedding planning tools at https://onlineweddingplanner.io (the "Site"). We have written it in plain English because privacy notices should be readable.

The short version: Online Wedding Planner stores your wedding planning data in your own browser's local storage. We do not have a server that holds your data. The only time information leaves your device is if you choose to submit our contact form, in which case it goes to our email inbox via Web3Forms. We use Google AdSense to show ads, which means Google may set cookies on your browser if you consent to advertising cookies.

1. Who we are

Online Wedding Planner is an independent project that publishes free, anonymous wedding planning tools. We do not require users to register an account, provide an email address, or share personal information to use any tool on the Site. You can reach us by emailing hello@onlineweddingplanner.io or by submitting the contact form.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you enter into the tools

Each tool on the Site (the budget calculator, guest list builder, seating chart maker, day-of timeline builder, RSVP wording generator, vendor tip calculator, photo shot list builder, DJ music brief builder, vendor contact tracker, flower picker, venue checklist, style quiz, honeymoon budget calculator, vendor contract checklist, and hashtag generator) saves the values you enter to your browser's local storage. This data lives only on the device you use to access the Site. We have no server-side database. We cannot see what you have entered. If you clear your browser data, switch browsers, or use a private/incognito window, your saved work will not be available.

2.2 Information from the contact form

If you fill out and submit our contact form at /contact.html, the name, email address, subject, and message you provide are sent to our inbox via Web3Forms, a third-party form-relay service. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add submitters to any marketing list.

2.3 Automatically collected information

Like most websites, our hosting provider may log standard request data (IP address, user agent, referrer, requested URL, timestamp) for security and traffic-management purposes. If you consent to analytics cookies, we may use Google Analytics or a similar service to understand aggregate page-view patterns. If you consent to advertising cookies, Google AdSense may collect data via cookies to serve personalised ads.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use three categories of cookies and local storage:

• Essential — Local storage keys that remember your tool inputs (e.g., your budget settings, guest list, seating chart) and your cookie preferences. These are always active because the Site cannot work without them.
• Analytics (opt-in) — Aggregate, anonymised usage statistics that help us understand which tools people use and where they get stuck.
• Advertising (opt-in) — Google AdSense cookies used to show ads relevant to your interests. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

4. Third-party services we use

To keep the Site free and fast, we rely on several third-party services:

• Google Fonts — to serve the Playfair Display and Inter fonts.
• Tailwind CSS via CDN (jsDelivr) — for styling.
• jsDelivr and unpkg — to serve the open-source JavaScript libraries we use (jsPDF, html2canvas, PapaParse, qrcode, Lucide icons).
• Google AdSense (post-approval) — to display ads. Only loaded after you opt-in via the cookie banner.
• Web3Forms — to relay contact form submissions to our inbox.
• Frankfurter.app — public currency-rate API for displaying budget figures in your preferred currency. No personal data is sent.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We have no control over how they handle data once it reaches them.

5. How long we keep your data

Tool data is kept in your browser's local storage indefinitely until you clear it. Contact form submissions are kept in our inbox until they are archived or deleted, typically within 12 months. Server access logs are retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.

6. Your privacy rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws)

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to access — see what data we have about you.
• Right to deletion — request deletion of your data.
• Right to portability — receive your data in a portable format.
• Right to correction — fix inaccurate data.
• Right to object — opt out of certain uses.
• Right to non-discrimination (CCPA) — receive the same service whether you exercise your rights or not.

Because tool data lives only in your browser, you can exercise the deletion right at any moment without contacting us: clear your browser data, or use the "Clear site data" feature in your browser's DevTools. For contact form submissions you have sent us, email hello@onlineweddingplanner.io to request deletion.

7. Children's privacy (COPPA)

The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we may have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. Because we do not hold a server-side database of user data, the most common types of data breach (database leaks) cannot affect your wedding planning information. Local-storage data in your browser is as secure as your device.

9. International transfers

If you are visiting from outside the United States and submit the contact form, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where Web3Forms operates. By using the Site, you consent to such transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent revision was made. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days.
