How to use this tool

Why we built this

A wedding DJ playing 4–5 hours plays maybe 60–80 songs. You probably care strongly about 10–15 of them (first dance, parent dances, your must-plays) and have strong opinions about another 10 (the ones you absolutely don't want). The other 40+ are the DJ's job. Our brief captures the songs that matter to you and the genres you prefer for the rest — letting the DJ do their job without surprising you.

Frequently asked questions

How many must-play songs should I add?

Usually 8–15. Too many turns the night into a karaoke of your favourite playlist; too few and the DJ has nothing to anchor your taste.

What if I don't know any songs to put in the do-not-play list?

The defaults are the most-commonly-rejected wedding songs: "Chicken Dance", "Macarena", "Cha Cha Slide", "YMCA", "Cotton Eye Joe". If you actually like any of them, untick them.

Should I send this to the DJ in advance?

Yes — at least 2–3 weeks before the wedding. Some DJs like a phone call to go through it together.
